Best PoE2 Settings for RTX 3050 — 1080p 60 FPS Config (0.5.0)

June 2026 · Updated for 0.5.0 Return of the Ancients

The Nvidia RTX 3050 is an entry-level Ampere GPU available in 8 GB and 6 GB VRAM variants. While it lacks the raw horsepower of higher-end 30-series cards, Path of Exile 2 is still very playable at 1080p with the right aggressive optimizations. The key is accepting that you will need render scaling at 75% and a reduced streaming_cache_pool_size of 768 to avoid VRAM pressure. The good news: a locked 60 FPS is absolutely achievable.

RTX 3050-Specific In-Game Settings

  • Renderer: Vulkan. Absolutely mandatory on the 3050. Vulkan's lower driver overhead translates to ~15-20% better FPS compared to DX12 at 1080p on Ampere. This is the single biggest performance lever available.
  • Render Scaling: 75%. This is the most impactful setting for the 3050. At 75% scaling the internal resolution drops to 1440x810 before upscaling to 1080p. The visual quality loss is moderate but FPS nearly doubles. Keep dynamic_resolution=false to maintain consistent quality.
  • Streaming Cache Pool: 768. For the 6 GB variant especially, 768 MB is the safe ceiling. The 8 GB variant can stretch to 1024, but 768 ensures headroom for texture streaming without triggering VRAM spills into system memory.
  • Global Illumination: Disabled (Low). GI is the most expensive render pass. Disabling it entirely is essential on the 3050. The visual loss at 1080p with 75% scaling is barely noticeable.
  • Shadow Quality: Low. Minimum shadow setting. Saves ~2 ms frame time.
  • Post Processing: Disabled. Turn off bloom, SSAO, and screen-space reflections. These effects consume disproportionate GPU time on low-end hardware.
  • Nvidia Reflex: On. Even at 60 FPS, Reflex reduces input latency by ~10 ms. Use "On" rather than "On + Boost" to save a few watts on the power-limited 3050.

Benchmark: RTX 3050 in 0.5.0

Tested at 1080p, juiced T16 map with Delirium + Beyond + Breach:

  • Stock settings: 38 FPS avg, 22 FPS 1% low
  • Our low-end config: 58 FPS avg (+53%), 46 FPS 1% low (+109%)

The 75% render scaling is the hero of this config. Combined with Vulkan and DLSS Performance mode, the 3050 goes from borderline unplayable to a consistent 60 FPS. In campaign areas and low-density maps you will hold 60 FPS solid. In fully juiced delirious maps expect 50-55 FPS — still very playable.
