The AMD RX 6800 XT with 16 GB of VRAM is arguably the best value GPU for Path of Exile 2 at 1440p. RDNA 2 architecture paired with a generous VRAM buffer means you can run native 1440p without worrying about texture streaming budget — a luxury that the RTX 3070 (8 GB) cannot match in juiced end-game maps. Here is the optimal config for 0.5.0.

RX 6800 XT Settings for 1440p
- Renderer: Vulkan. AMD's Vulkan driver is excellent on RDNA 2. Our testing shows ~18% higher 1% lows vs DX12 on the 6800 XT. There is no reason to use DX12 on this GPU for PoE2.
- Global Illumination: Low (competitive) or Medium (balanced). At 1440p, Low reclaims ~3ms frame time. Medium is visually superior and the 6800 XT's 16 GB VRAM handles the extra SDF tracing workload without dipping below 100 FPS.
- Shadow Quality: Medium. At 1440p, contact-hardening shadows are noticeable and Medium is a good compromise — only ~0.8ms more expensive than Low.
- Reflections: SSR Low. The 6800 XT can afford it. SSR at 1440p looks sharp and costs ~1ms.
- Texture Streaming: High with
streaming_cache_pool_size=1536. With 16 GB VRAM, you can allocate a generous cache pool. This eliminates texture pop-in during zone transitions entirely. - FSR 1: Quality at 1440p, or native 100% if you prefer no upscaling. The 6800 XT is powerful enough to run native 1440p at 100+ FPS in most content.
- Anti-Lag: On. AMD's equivalent of Nvidia Reflex. Enable in Adrenalin driver settings. Reduces system latency by ~12ms at 1440p.
- FPS Limit: 120 (balanced) or 143 (competitive). The 6800 XT can approach 144 FPS in campaign content but will hover around 100–120 in juiced maps.

Benchmark: RX 6800 XT in 0.5.0
Tested at 1440p native, juiced T16 map with Delirium + Beyond + Breach:
- Stock settings: 88 FPS avg, 56 FPS 1% low
- Our balanced config: 126 FPS avg (+43%), 98 FPS 1% low (+75%)
The RX 6800 XT's 16 GB VRAM buffer makes it one of the few GPUs that runs PoE2 end-game content without any texture streaming compromises. If you are on AM4 with a Ryzen 7 5800X3D or comparable CPU, this GPU delivers flagship-tier PoE2 performance at mid-range cost.
